• Meet Coach Anna

    Welcome!

My name is Anna. Not so long ago, with two children by my side, I travelled from Kyiv to Ottawa. As you know yourself - this was an unexpected journey and makes for a long story. I hold much experience in the field of mental health support which includes experience as a certified coach, a master of physical practices and a leader of women's seminars.

I would be very happy to help you, to gently lead you by the hand to the "new shiny version" of yourself, to a feeling of lightness, confidence, to leave behind the feeling of guilt and regret for what you cannot change, doing here and now what you can.

Sometimes, it is just one wrong thought which is separating us from a lifetime of happiness. And together we will find it again. Your life will sparkle with new colors!

    See you soon!

    Meet Coach Mariana

    Welcome!

We live in a world of changes and opportunities. Sometimes all goes well, sometimes - not. And when it goes wrong it brings anxiety, stress and exhaustion. So we start looking for changes: for a better home, a better workplace, and a better environment to build community.

My name is Mariana Grushkovyk, I'm a life-, family- and career coach with 11+ years of experience in recruitment and human resources. Having being an immigrant twice and a person whose motherland is being destroyed by war, I understand you. I feel for you and I am ready to support you: to walk with you up to achieve your goal; to help you find your motivation, your resources, your inner strength and your purpose.

I am here to help you figure out your "what's now" and "what's next".

  • Meet Coach Svitlana

    Welcome!

Our lives are changing all the time, especially in the time of war. We are handling and navigating through the new reality. We are finding the things that make our life truly ours. Each of us has lost something, and it may hurt. At the same time, we are certainly finding something new and beautiful.

My name is Svitlana. I've been running mental health and social projects in Ukraine for 5 years. I am a certified group support leader. I run both individual and group meetings.

The stress of the move and adjustment to the new country can be overwhelming, may lead to anxiety and depression, and bring sadness and exhaustion. I can relate as I’m going through this myself. Our meeting is a safe place to vent and release some of your heavy emotions and thoughts, it is a place where you have all the time to talk and thus to understand what is going on with you right now.

Leaning on one another you can find your resources and your strengths. I do believe that during the hardest times of life strength can often be attained, which may already be seen or yet to be discovered.

Life Coaching Sessions
at Maidan Market

The Maidan Market is pleased to be working closely with the UCC Ottawa Ukrainian Mental Health group to bring life-coaching sessions on site to help newcomers navigate their journeys to the National Capital Region.

As some of you may have heard from your life coaches, we are switching to a client pay model starting, June 1st 2023. This means that individual sessions with life coaches will no longer be free. This change is due to completion of funding and though it saddens us that we are no longer able to provide this service for free, we leave you in the capable hands of our coaches.

Group sessions will remain free and available for the foreseeable future - please refer to the schedule on the OUMH website for details.

Being forced to move to a new country, whether temporarily or permenantly, can be physically and emotionally challenging. Our life coaches offer a place to connect with yourself, offer reassurance, and help make the process more managable. They can help you in identifying personal goals, orientation services, and provide psychosocial support to help you with this transition. Our coaches can also offer referrals to additional services and mental health supports offered in Ukrainian, Russian, and English.
